| Auntie Elinore had been killed instantly in a car
wreck. Some think she had a stroke or heart failure and then died before
the impact. We planned to join the family gathering for her funeral in
Walla Walla. I prayed that the graphics projector we had ordered would
arrive before departure. Well, it did but the gate had been shut and he
did not bring it on in. I prayed that I could somehow get this projector
for I wanted to share the graphics of heaven we had designed. I thought it
could be done during a song. One of the relatives had called to ask us to
sing. We had a song ready for we had presented it at church the Sabbath
before. I had just completed a series of 15 songs with graphics for use in
comforting.
My husband told me it was impossible. The truck had loaded my projector it was time to leave town. I prayed to God who loves IMPOSSIBLE CHALLENGES. |
| When we arrived at the bank, it was supposedly the last stop before heading on to Walla Walla. We were 25 miles from home and on our way. While waiting at the bank for the cash we needed, the children began mentioning what they had forgotten to put into the trunk for the week end. One had left his shoes, another his good slacks and shirt, and I had forgotten an item for lunch. So it was decided to return to the home for these items. |
I mentioned that perhaps God would send the
delivery truck while we were at the home getting our missing items. I
heard someone say, "NO CHANCE!" An hour had passed since
we had left our home to begin our journey. As we arrived at our gate,
guess who was there? The Fed-x truck was there with the new
projector.
The plans had changed for the music for the funeral and it was arranged for others to sing yet we used the projector in the motel during the Sabbath hours to watch the wonderful video of the life of Jesus with family. Isaiah 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. Mathew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: Mathew 19:26 But Jesus beheld [them], and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible. I remember how he timed two busy doctors to meet at a certain intersection in four lane traffic in Portland, because my husband and I had only a few minutes to prepare for evangelistic meetings in Russia. I had been impressed to turn around and go back towards home but I did not understand why just obeyed. There at the intersection, in the van, was my husband wanting to care for a need I had not thought of. I remember another time when a package needed for use in Russia arrived after the delivery truck was done for the day. He said it had just arrived and he decided to make another quick run to bring it to me. It was an unheard of thing. I think God urged him to bring it. God is in control of HIS work. He provides everything. Nothing is impossible with HIM. Nothing! It is not because we are perfect that God gives us work to do for Him, it is in spite of our faults. We have the privilege of telling of His grace and love in working every day in our lives. God's timing is perfect. (January 28, 2002) |
