Lesson 13: Part 3 Sanctuary: Judgment

Nature: Squid

SQUID

Squids are related to the octopus. They propel themselves backwards by squirting water from their body. Notice their long arms are like the octopus have.
Squids and cuttlefish have 10 arms. Eight are short and two longer. All have suckers on the tips.  These suckers help them hang onto things like living prey.
On the sides of their mantel, the squid have wing like structures or fins used for swimming. Some squid jump out of water but this makes them at risk for birds that like to eat squid. The wing like structures and the mantel help increase speed when used together.
Squid are able to hide in a cloud of ink that they puff out of their funnels  below their eyes. They put it in the face of their enemy. Then they can slip away escaping from danger while the enemy is blinded.
In the area of the mouth, are two robust strong jaws like a bird's beak. These are strong enough to grind up the shells of large crustacean and tear fish apart.

Some of these squid are able to secrete a liquid that glows in the dark.

The Taningia has the largest light producing organ in all the animal kingdom. It is the World's Biggest Flasher

The head houses the brain. It's eyes are as large as a big grapefruit. This species has large fins for swimming, gliding, and steering. Most of the organ systems are held in the muscular sac of the mantle or main body. The mantle  behaves like a syringe, and water is drawn or, more accurately, pushed in then pushed out.

The Taningia only has 8 arms. It has two rows of hooks without suckers.
Its famous light organs are located at the tips of two arms. They look like black lumps.
This is one of only a few squid species that have no feeding tentacles as adults.
It has a funnel under its eye.  Which is a multipurpose tube used in breathing, jetting, squirting ink, laying eggs, and expelling waste.

Some of the longest known squid are 70 feet long. A specimen was found off the coast of New Zealand in 1933 measuring 22 meters or 70 feet.

The giant squid is hard to study. Some weigh almost a ton (1,980 lbs). (900 kg)

The giant squid has been found in the nets of commercial fishermen, in the stomachs of sperm whales, and washed ashore on different continents, no scientific information has been gathered by direct observations of live giant squid.

Giant squid (Architeuthis) are the largest invertebrates on Earth.

The general areas where giant squid occur and a very rough idea of their abundance can be estimated from the stomach contents of sperm whales. Soft tissues of squid are quickly digested by enzymes in the large mammals' stomachs. But the squid's hard beaks, which are made from a carbohydrate known as chitin, prove indigestible. Sperm whales have a way of ridding themselves of the thousands of pointy squid beaks that accumulate in their digestive tracts. They coat the beaks with a slick, waxy substance known as ambergris, then pass the mass of beaks and ambergris through the digestive tract.
Let's look at the Largest eyes.
GIANT Eyes: The giant squid has the largest eyes in the animal kingdom. They can grow to 25 cm (10 in.) in diameter--about the size of a volleyball. Squid and people both have eyes with single lenses, pupils, irises and retinas. We can only guess at the light sensing capabilities of an eye with such an enormous retina.

The funnel is a  multipurpose tube used in breathing, jetting, squirting ink, laying eggs, and expelling waste.

The same God who made us has created the squids. The squids live in oceans that have salt in them. The giant squid lives very deep in the ocean. God can see everything down there as easily as He can see all that is done above water where it is nice and light. God knows all the secrets that scientists do not know about this squid. There are probably ones much larger than have been found in fisherman nets. Though these giant of giant animals live deep in the secret depths of the ocean, God knows every detail about them. He knows it all. He made these creatures. He sees when a fisherman cuts off just an arm of this giant.

Some squid are known to change color at times.

Remember the sanctuary we looked at in the last two lessons communicates with color. This lesson is looking at a very important event that takes place in the most holy room. The ark of God was kept in this room. In heaven the ark is where God's throne is. On the top of the ark is the mercy seat which is above the law of God. Judgment happens here.

God is going to judge everything we do, whether good or bad, even things done in secret. Ecclesiastes 12:14

SONG

Every word that people say is looked at in the record books. (Mathew 12: 36037) That is because the words we say show what we are thinking. (Mt 12:35) God looks at everything. He even notices where you were born. He does not forget where you live and what has happened to you to make you the way you are. (Psalms 87:4-6)

God knows if your brothers or sisters were mean to you. God remembers everything your parents have done to you or for you. He sees everything.

Jesus is working in the throne room of heaven right now. This is where God is. He saw the ark and the ten commandments in it. (Rev. 11:19) Right now God is looking through the record books. (Dan 7:9 & 10) Everything you have ever done, thought or said is written down. Even secret things you thought no one knew, are written.

I know the King, there is no need to dread. Soon He will put away all sin, sickness, pain and sorrow. He will take only those to heaven that will be kind and loving and happy there.

He is aware of every detail of your life.

God knows all the nice things you have had to play with. He knows where you have grown up. He knows if you have had nothing.

Even your grandparents are known. He knows how they have loved you. He sees it all. He knows if you had no grandparents. He knows if you have been rejected by your family. If your life has been real tough, He does not expect as much from you. All He wants is for you to respond to HIS LOVE.
Jesus knows everywhere your feet have been. He knows about all the things you have been through. He loves you. He can fix the things that have been painful to you. If your heart is breaking, He can heal it.
When God judges you, He knows what made you turn out the way you are. You know what? He loves you and desperately wants you to come live with Him in heaven. Do not doubt His love. Just believe and obey.
