Revelation 7

"And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree." Rev. 7:1

Wind is a symbol of trouble.  ( Daniel 7:2, Jeremiah 25:32) The trouble is held back until minds are made up. Is your mind made up?

Four angels are instructed to hold back the winds of strife until God's people have really made up their minds to stay with their decision to obey God.

This section of Revelation stops everything to encourage us. We look at all the crowds of believers who made it, who never gave up.

The angels write with an invisible ink on your forehead if you are keeping the commandments. The angels can read the mark, but no one else can. To have this mark, you need God's help to get rid of all hateful feelings. Instead, you need to be kind and loving to each other. We need to act like Jesus. Ephesians 1:13 and 4:30

Thousands obey Him no matter how mean Satan and his friends in the church are to us. You may think you are all alone, but you are not. Just wait and see! Elijah thought he was the only one obeying God in Israel when Ahab and Jezebel defied God and worshipped Baal. But God told him there were 7,000. Here in Revelation, God is telling us not to feel alone, there are 144,000 plus thousands of thousands more who are obeying God. They are all over the world. God has His friends everywhere.

Hidden Strength

An old temple has roots which surround it. The roots are  crumbling the building. Roots grow slowly but are very powerful over a long time to change sidewalks, and buildings.

A plain old root has hidden strength. It searches for water and nutrients and grows. In dry ground it really has to search. It has the strength to crack rock and crumble strong buildings and cement walls. You need to have your roots deep for a storm is coming during the last events before Jesus comes. Morning, noon and evening, plant your feet on the promises by memorizing them. This makes your roots go deep. Learn to trust God now before the storm hits.

Revelation 7:1-3 talks about trees.

After these things, I saw four angels standing on the four corners. They were told the wind should not blow on the earth, on sea, or any tree.

David in the Bible talks about trees. He says a person who obeys God's laws is like a tree that can find water and it never wilts or dies. It even bears fruit. Jesus wants us to grow the fruit of kindness, joy, love, peace, control of temper. He also expects us to take good care of our bodies. (Galatians 5:22)

Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. His delight is in the law of the Lord. In His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by RIVERS of water. He is right next to the source of life .(JESUS)

In the Bible, the prophet Jeremiah said the Christian is like a tree by a river. It  "sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. You can plant yourself by the spiritual river. Your parents may put you by this river morning and evening by reading Bible stories and praying with you. But you only can choose to take a drink. Drink and keep drinking every day. It tastes good to learn of Jesus. (Jeremiah 17: 7&8)
Side by side Christians attend church, do mission service, give gifts, and are delightful friends. The underground hidden secrets of the heart tell the whole story only to God who sees it all. The true Christian has deep love roots for Jesus. They love to obey and do all He asks because they are FRIENDS. They talk with Him often.
When the angel writes on your forehead it means you have made up your mind and no matter how hard it might be to obey, you are determined to obey.

If you lie or reject the things you learn, the commanding angel cannot put the seal on you. Rev. 7:2

Today is the day to commit your life to Jesus. Ask Him to help you be like Him. Jesus has the power to change our lives.
