| Have you ever locked your keys in the car? I have. I was so upset. It was cold and windy and it was a week end in Portland. The locksmith fee was terrible. |
My
dad was enjoying the Bible studies on how to claim promises for
answers to prayer. As a family we enjoyed listening to Elder Glen Coon. He
was so positive and full of hope. He helped us realize that God is eager
to give us gifts if we only ask HIM. He taught us conditions to receiving
the answers were obedience and love. |
One
day dad closed the trunk of his car then realized he had just left the
keys to the car inside. Oh, he was upset. He tried to pull on the trunk
but it was no use, it was closed and the keys were inside. Then he
remembered a promise. He wondered if God would actually answer a prayer
about locked up keys. He felt foolish for what he had done. Could it be
that God would forgive his forgetfulness and help him now? He
decided to at least ask. |
When
he prayed for help, he claimed the promise, "Knock and it shall be
opened unto you." When he opened his eyes, he was surprised. The
trunk was opening slowly apparently on its own. Yet he knew he had
fastened it securely. It was obvious God had sent his angels to open his
trunk. It made a real impact on his faith and trust in God. God had
answered him directly. |
We
do believe in a God; we believe in a God who hears and answers prayer. He
has said, "Ask, and ye shall receive; seek, and ye shall find; knock,
and it shall be opened unto you."--Medical Ministry, p. 13. {CME
