Welcom to larom.org. This section of Bible studies continues our look at Bible pictures of God's character. It is amazing how this study helps you see what a loving God we have. He was willing to take risks to win our love and admiration. He is honored by our love and faithfulness even during poverty and sickness.  He treasures His children and hears every cry for help.

I have found a friend in Jesus, He's everything to me, He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul; The Lily of the Valley in Him alone I see All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole. In sorrow, He's my comfort, in trouble He's my stay, He tells me every care on Him to roll.

He's the Lily of the Valley the Bright and Morning Star, He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

2. He all my griefs has taken, and all my sorrows borne; In temptation He's my strong and mighty tow'r; I have all for Him forsaken, and all my idols torn From my heart, and now He keeps me by His pow'r. Though all the world forsake me, and Satan temp me sore, Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal. He's the Lily of the Valley the Bright and Morning Star, He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

3. He will never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here, While I live by faith and do His blessed will; A wall of fire about me, I've nothing now to fear, With His manna He my hungry soul shall fill. Then sweeping up to glory, I see His blessed face, where rivers of delight shall every roll, He's the Lily of the Valley the Bright and Morning Star, He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

Extremely Patient

Lessons and Remedies for rebellion show God is merciful and patient. For example, the people of Israel complained about the free food they received every day from God. It was a power packed nutrition rich food they called manna.

He promised they could have some meat and sent in flying quail. The birds did not fly over His tabernacle. In fact he made the birds come up within a days journey from the camp. Grumblers stuffed themselves till they became so sick they died. They rendered their own punishment.

Pillar of Cloud: God faithfully camped right there teaching these rebellious people so much like us today.

Isaiah 4:5 promises us another event of seeing this pillar during the troubles at the end of the world.

God is a wall of fire about His people who love Him. He is very generous with his FRIENDS though they wound Him often, not even knowing it.

Numbers 14:11 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have showed among them?
14:12 I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they.
14:13 And Moses said unto the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear [it], (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;)
14:14 And they will tell [it] to the inhabitants of this land: [for] they have heard that thou LORD [art] among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and [that] thy cloud standeth over them, and [that] thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.
14:15 Now [if] thou shalt kill [all] this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying,
14:16 Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.
14:17 And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my LORD be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying,
14:18 The LORD [is] longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing [the guilty], visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation].

Exodus

13:21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
13:22 He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, [from] before the people.

14:24 And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,
