By faith let us look upon the rainbow round about the throne, the cloud of sins confessed behind it. The rainbow of promise is an assurance to every humble, contrite, believing soul, that his life is one with Christ, and that Christ is one with God. The wrath of God will not fall upon one soul that seeks refuge in Him. God Himself has declared, "When I see the blood, I will pass over you." "The bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant" (Ex. 12:13; Gen. 9:16). {AG 70.5}

Sabbath Miracle

Sabbath Test before Siberia

I was tested to see if I would keep the edges of the Sabbath even if I needed an item impossible to get before Sabbath. Some of the last slides I needed for Russia were not back yet before Sabbath started. I felt I just had to have them. I pondered over what to do. I always guard the edges of the Sabbath. I know that God says to do this.
I determined to keep the Sabbath. The sunset was four minutes after six. The  two stores that had my slides closed at six o'clock. I knocked on the camera store door at five minutes after six. They unlocked the door and were happy to sell my slides to me. They were excited about my mission trip and I had brought them more than a thousand dollars of business as I prepared all 3,000 slides.

Encouraged by this favor they showed, I decided to try for BiMart. It had big bars over the entrance door.

I went over to the large glass sliding door and knocked. These doors open by light sensors from the inside for those leaving the store not from any trying to get in from outside. As I knocked, the doors quickly opened. Surprised clerks were counting the money and closing down the store. They looked up like they were surprised the doors opened also.

I stated that I was leaving early the next morning for Russia and they had one last shipment of slides I needed for my lectures in Russia. They were happy to get them for me and I was soon out of the store pinching myself to see if it was all real.

God honored my desire to keep the Sabbath holy and not buy or sell on the Sabbath day. He knew I wanted those slides and He made it possible. I wondered if those slides were delayed to test my loyalty to His requirement to keep the Sabbath Holy. This day He set aside for a special time with Him. If we are busy doing our own pleasure, or trying to buy and sell, we miss out on experiences we could have had with God. If we are too busy cooking, washing dishes or clothes, polishing shoes, bathing, or whatever, we miss out on time that could be used in QUALITY FAMILY time with our HEAVENLY FATHER.
"...the rainbow encircling the throne represents the combined power of mercy and justice. It is not justice alone that is to be maintained; for this would eclipse the glory of the rainbow of promise above the throne; men could see only the penalty of the law. Were there no justice, no penalty, there would be no stability to the government of God. It is the mingling of judgment and mercy that makes salvation complete. It is the blending of the two that leads us, as we view the world's Redeemer, and the law of Jehovah, to exclaim, "Thy gentleness hath made me great." We know that the gospel is a perfect and complete system, revealing the immutability of the law of God. It inspires the heart with hope, and with love to God. Mercy invites us to enter through the gates into the city of God, and justice is satisfied to accord to every obedient soul full privileges as a member of the royal family, a child of the heavenly King. If we were defective in character, we could not pass the gates that mercy has opened to the obedient; for justice stands at the entrance, and demands holiness in all who would see God. Were justice extinct, and were it possible for divine mercy to open the gates to the whole race, irrespective of character, there would be a worse condition of disaffection and rebellion in heaven than before Satan was expelled. The peace, happiness, and harmony of heaven would be broken. The change from earth to heaven will not change men's character; the happiness of the redeemed in heaven results from the character formed in this life after the image of Christ. The saints in heaven will first have been saints on earth. {RH, December 13, 1892 par. 7}.."
