Wild Tractor

With three active inquisitive sons, my life has never been boring. I have had many opportunities to pray for help, as you can see, if you have read all stories up to this point. This story is one that happened several years ago.
My oldest son was learning from the neighbor how to mow the lawn about the home we used to have in Portland. Our son was proud of his ability to do this for us.
He wanted to take it down the hill to do some work. There was a very steep hill on our 3 acres. I tried the tractor out, tried to show him how to stop it, how to put it in forward and reverse. We both prayed together that God would protect him in his efforts to do chores about the home. I remembered how a surgeon in one of my classes expressed anxiety over a child growing up and experiences of climbing and descending stairs. He said his wife closed her eyes and went in the other room for she just did not want to see her child fall.
Well, I kind of felt the same way as I watched him take off on the tractor. Instead of low gear, it was open full throttle. He jetted down the drive and rammed a tree. I cried out to God for help. I was unable to call out any suggestions. As soon as he figured out the reverse gear, he roared backwards into the bushes. Then again he zoomed forward.  I expected him to fly off and be trampled by the run away tractor or that it would turn over. His blond hair was literally standing on end.
I stood there helplessly watching the drama and praying for his angel to keep him from harm.

Eventually he figured it out and brought things into control. He had a very healthy respect for the tractor and any other vehicle and was very careful. He had wisdom beyond his years at the end of this experience!

I was shaking and so relieved that God had kept my son from what could have been a horrible tragedy.

When we shared the frightful experience with with the neighbor, he told us as a grown up man, he had a similar experience going down his hill. It was frightening till he figured out how to manage the tractor.

God does not make you pick a number and have you wait. He does not put you on hold like some do on the telephone. His answers even start before you pray. God answers the prayers of the weakest human being. He answers during emergencies. I have seen Him do it so many times.  If you have an emergency you wish me to pray with you about. Email your request and I will pray for the thing troubling you.   (Rose at     tetracha@aol.com)

"All things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." Matt. 21:22. {COL 173.2}
Let all who are afflicted or unjustly used, cry to God. Turn away from those whose hearts are as steel, and make your requests known to your Maker. Never is one repulsed who comes to Him with a contrite heart. Not one sincere prayer is lost. Amid the anthems of the celestial choir, God hears the cries of the weakest human being. We pour out our heart's desire in our closets, we breathe a prayer as we walk by the way, and our words reach the throne of the Monarch of the universe. They may be inaudible to any human ear, but they cannot die away into silence, nor can they be lost through the activities of business that are going on. Nothing can drown the soul's desire. It rises above the din of the street, above the confusion of the multitude, to the heavenly courts. It is God to whom we are speaking, and our prayer is heard. {COL 174.1}
